Medical disclaimer

Effective 30 September 2026

MidLune helps you organise your health and notice things early. It does not practise medicine. Read this page before relying on anything MidLune shows you.

1. In an emergency, do not use MidLune

MidLune is not monitored by medical staff and cannot respond to an emergency.

If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, slurred speech, severe bleeding, a serious allergic reaction, thoughts of harming yourself, or any symptom that frightens you: call 911 now, or go to your nearest emergency department.

For a suspected poisoning or overdose in Canada or the United States, call your poison control centre immediately.

2. Information, not medical advice

Everything in MidLune (screening suggestions, reference ranges, trend charts, interaction warnings, nutrition estimates and assistant answers) is general health information for your own education and organisation.

It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a prescription, or a second opinion. It cannot account for everything about you that your clinician knows.

3. No clinician-patient relationship

Using MidLune does not create a relationship with a doctor, nurse practitioner, pharmacist or any other health professional. No licensed clinician reviews your record, your readings or your questions.

Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any question about a medical condition, symptom or medicine. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in MidLune.

4. About medicines and safety checks

MidLune's interaction and duplicate-therapy checks are a safety net, not a substitute for your pharmacist. A check that finds nothing does not prove a combination is safe.

  • Never start, stop, split or change the dose of a prescribed medicine because of anything MidLune shows. Speak to your prescriber first.
  • Bottle scanning and photo entry can misread a label. Always confirm the name, strength and instructions against the real package.
  • Reminders depend on your device, its battery and its notification settings, and can be delayed or missed. Do not rely on MidLune alone for a dose where a missed one is dangerous.
  • Supplements and over-the-counter products can interact with prescriptions. Tell your pharmacist about everything you take.

5. About screening and prevention guidance

Screening suggestions are drawn from published population guidelines, including the US Preventive Services Task Force and the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care. They are starting points for a conversation with your clinician, not a referral or a booking.

Your personal history, family history and risk factors can move the right age and interval in either direction. Only your clinician can decide what is right for you, and only they can order the test.

Survival figures shown in MidLune come from national cancer registries and describe groups of people. They do not predict any individual outcome.

6. About lab results and readings

Reference ranges vary between laboratories and between people. A value outside a range is not automatically a problem, and a value inside one does not rule a problem out.

Results you type or upload are shown back to you as entered. MidLune does not verify them against the laboratory. Always have your clinician interpret your results.

Readings from wearables and home monitors are consumer measurements, not clinical-grade diagnostics.

7. About the MidLune assistant

The assistant writes its answers from your record and from general medical reference material. Like any language model, it can be incomplete or wrong, and it cannot examine you.

Use its answers to prepare better questions for your appointment, not to decide your care. If an answer conflicts with what your clinician told you, your clinician is right.

8. Not a medical device

MidLune is a general-wellness and health-record tool. It is not cleared or approved by Health Canada or the US Food and Drug Administration as a medical device, and it is not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat or prevent any disease.

9. Your responsibility

The information MidLune shows is only as good as what is in your record. Keep your medicines, conditions, allergies and results up to date, and review them with your clinician and pharmacist.

By using MidLune you accept that decisions about your health remain yours and your clinician's, and that MidLune is not liable for choices made on the basis of the information it presents. This disclaimer forms part of the MidLune terms of service.

In an emergency, call 911. For anything else about your care, call your clinician.
